Samson Faboye is a doctoral researcher at the Urban and Regional Planning Department, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds a Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees in Architecture from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria and a Master of Urban Studies (with a Speciality in urban Politics and Governance) Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

His ongoing doctoral research explores the future of traditional governance systems in response to expanding urbanisation in North West and KwaZulu Natal Provinces of South Africa. His research interests revolve around Architectural Heritage Conservation, Development and Urban Policy.
